Mariana Souza

Born in 1985, in the city of Lorena, Sao Paulo State.
She is a ballerina with a BA in Physiotherapy from Pestalozzi Association and has a post-graduate diploma in Psychomotor Education and Therapy from State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ).
She began studying dance in 1994 with Nika Gripp and later with many other teachers such as: Otton Luz, Natalia Valdanini, Margareth Millner, Antonio Morais e Renée Simon. As a dancer, Mariana was a member of Arte dos Pés Company, French-Brazilian Company and Atelier Coreográfico-RJ.
From 2007 to 2009, Mariana specialized in classical ballet and contemporary dance at Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional d’Angers and CEFEDEM (Centre de Formation à L’ensegnement de la danse et de la musique) in Bordeaux, France, where she studied with Arnaud and Sumié Coste, Olivier Bodin, Anne Marie Sandrini, Emmanuelle Bèrard, Charles Jude, Cyrril Atanassof, Thierry Malandain, Raymond Murcia, Eugénia Roucher, Elianne Seguin among other masters.
Since 2006, Mariana is a member of Esther Weitzman Dance Company, having participated in many events and performances; the most recent one being Jogo de Damas (2013). At the present, she is dedicated to teaching classical ballet and physical preparation through Pilates.
